Family...Friend.... Sisterhood!!!!!

Yo! These chicks right here....I don't even have the words, ya'll!

The one on the left is my first cousin/BFF...the one on the right shares a Mom and a Dad with me. That is my bratty kid sister.... Epitome of Sisterhood.

BFFz

To confirm how goofy we are, this Saturday at a women's conference my sister decided to take a pic of my shoes and then texted this pic to me!! LOL! Lawdhammercy! I was rolling!!! Good thing we were taking an intermission otherwise I would have gotten escorted to the nearest exit for laughing so hard!!

We have taken similar poses in the 80's, 90's and now in 2011...Our bond is sealed tight.

At the Farmer's Market/Flea Market...acting up!! LOL!

Oh Mi Goodness, we have rubbed off on my child. BFF and my oldest daughter doing what we do best, act silly. lol

Most of you probably don't even recognize me...Around my peeps I am a free bird. Certified Nut. LOL!

My babies with the infamous, "Auntie".... she spoils my kiddos rotten!!

=====
These two have held me down, stood in the gap, prayed for me, stood up for me, loved me more than I've loved my self at times, and most importantly they understand my breed of crazy! Isn't it grand to have people in your corner who "get you"?? I mean they understand me even in silence, they can read me like a book when I get outta line too... They both have birthdays this month so I wanted to show them love. Let the celebrations commence! Shout out to my Chi-town homie, Kellan (Kellz) Happy Birthday luv...you my girl 100 Grand!! Enjoy your day today, girl!!

(Even though you girls aren't Libras, life goes on. Pisces is the next best thing! LOL! ) *wink*

Elmo Goes Green!

"Being Green" Elmo goes "green" to help the Earth..
---
We checked this video out from the library and my baby loved it! She danced all around and wanted to know more about 'going green' and what it meant to recycle. Even though I recycle plastics and paper she never knew what I was doing. So now she tries to save everything! LOL!
-------

Elmo and Abby find out it can be easy being green when they stumble onto the Earth-a-Thon, hosted by Mr. Earth (Paul Rudd), happening right on Sesame Street. Telly, Rosita, and cookie monster answer calls from children calling in with pledges to reduce, reuse and recycle (and possibly send cookies to Cookie Monster). But what happens when Abby uses her magic to help Elmo be really "green"?

Craft project::Aquariums in a bottle!

This craft project was a huge hit with my students! Its so hands on and it incorporates measurement, and a science lesson on marine biology. (I omitted the glitter) I got this idea from kaboose.com
Here’s a science project that is also a fun craft. Create your very own ocean waves in a plastic soda bottle. A perfect summer craft.

For more great warm-weather activities, check out our listing of Summer Crafts.

What you'll need:
Empty two liter plastic bottle with lid
Clear vegetable oil or mineral oil
Water
Funnel
Blue food coloring
Small star fish, shells and other sea creatures
One tsp glitter
White craft glue
Hot glue

How to make it:
Wash and dry bottle and remove all labels.
Fill bottle halfway with tap water.
Add a few drops of blue food coloring and swirl around to mix.
Add glitter and sea creatures.
Using a funnel, fill the rest of the bottle with vegetable oil.
Be sure that rim and cap are dry, then apply white craft glue around the rim. Seal cap.
Use a layer of hot glue around the outer edge of the cap for added protection from leakage.
Turn bottle on its side and gently rock the bottle to create a “wave” inside your ocean habitat!

Tips:

Use lightweight starfish, shells and other sea creature toys that can float. Test them first in a bowl or glass of water. Find these at your local craft supply store or discount department store.
Make the ocean any color you choose! Blue is standard of course, but if your child’s room is decorated with red and yellow, go with red food coloring. There’s no rule that says your ocean must be blue.

Small children will be mesmerized by this creation. They can help make this every step. Let them insert the sea creatures, hold the funnel and help add the tap water. In the steps that may be more difficult for little fingers, have them hold the bottle steady for you while you add the glitter.
